Roleplay Post Formatting

In Oridenia we ask that players use a certain format to help keep roleplay clear and concise.

Roleplay Rules

God-Modding

In Oridenia, each player has complete control over their own character's actions and emotions. You're not allowed to dictate or control the actions or emotions of another player's character.

Private Roleplays

To meet courtship, activity, or skill requirements, roleplays must take place exclusively within our Discord.

Ongoing Roleplays

You must ask before joining an ongoing roleplay.

Timeline

The timeline of a roleplay is determined by the starting point, regardless of its duration.

Posting Order

To maintain organization, please follow the posting order established by the thread starter.

Thread Bumping

To encourage active participation in threads, players are allowed to bump a thread they're in by pinging the next person in line after 24 hours have passed. However, players who do not respond to the roleplay within the next 24 hours may be automatically skipped to keep the story moving.

Three Roleplay Limit

Your character may only be involved in up to three roleplays at the same time. Dailies and quick quests do not count toward this limit.

OOC vs. IC

It's important to distinguish between In-Character and Out-of-Character interactions during roleplay. Negative character interactions and cruel actions should not be taken personally, as they are part of the game. It's also important not to bring personal feelings about another player into the game, and to avoid letting those feelings influence your character's behavior. You have the option to not roleplay with someone you don't get along with, but your character should not treat them poorly just because of your personal feelings.

Thread Timeout

To prevent the RP channels from becoming cluttered with inactive roleplays, threads will automatically expire after a week of inactivity. Once a thread has expired, participants will be notified by a staff member and must log the roleplay.

Post Etiquette

Post Footers

It is mandatory for players to add a footer to the end of their post, which includes any rolls, catches, forage, EXP gained, and injuries received. This will simplify the process of logging your thread.

Post Formatting

To improve the readability of posts, many players choose to bold spoken words and italicize thoughts or sign language. While this is optional, it is encouraged.

Thread Headers

The first post of a roleplay is known as the thread header, which provides crucial information to readers and participants. It should include details such as the time of day, location, characters involved, and posting order. Thread headers are important for several reasons, including allowing readers to avoid potentially uncomfortable content and enabling staff to track who is participating in a roleplay. Thread headers are required.

Skill Rolling

Thread Focuses

Each thread can have a maximum of two main focuses, and if one of those focuses is romance, it will count as one of the two.

Skill Usage

All skill rolls must be made in our designated #bot-cmds channel, regardless of where the roleplay is taking place. A player is allowed to roll up to two skills per post, but if they successfully achieve a combo, they may roll for up to three skills in a single post.

Combos

Some of our skills can be combined with others if they are successful, creating a combo. Combos are optional to use. When you get a roll that can be combined, you may roll for a single skill twice in that post, instead of only once. The higher roll of the two is taken as the result. You may only combo once per post.

Thread Logging

After a thread has ended, it is the responsibility of the participants to log their roleplay in the #rp-log channel using the provided format. This allows us to keep track of injuries, herbs, prey, and experience gained. It's important to note that all threads must be logged, and any that are not will not count towards any requirements or rewards.
