Getting Started

Here you will find instructions on how to obtain an Oriden species, as well as how to enter them into the game.

Requirements

To join the Oridenia roleplay and get an Oriden species character, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a Discord account.

  • Have a ToyHou.se account.

We understand that it can be challenging to obtain an invitation code to create a ToyHou.se account. As such, our staff members are available to provide free invitation codes to any player who needs one.

It's important to note that all characters must be a part of the Oridenia ToyHou.se world, even if you're not participating in the roleplaying game. Our Toyhou.se world serves as a secondary masterlist to keep track of characters and their current owners. You may not remove the character from the world for any reason.

How to Obtain More Characters

The Oridenia roleplay game limits users to 15 active characters at a time. However, the species itself does not have any limits on the number of characters a user can create. You can obtain more using the following methods:

  • Adopt from our Adoption Center.

  • Purchase at a sale, event, or auction.

  • Breed your existing characters.

  • Purchase character creation item from the shop.

  • Trade, gift, or buy from other users.

Please note that breeding is a feature exclusive to the Oridenia roleplay game. In order to breed a character, they must be registered with the game and have an activity level of at least 2.

Character Use Before Approval

While it is fine to create character concepts, study sheets, and sketches, users are not allowed to use their characters in roleplay or canon artwork until they have been officially approved. Please keep in mind that characters may need to have their design tweaked or changed during the approval process, so any work done for them in advance may be for naught.

Character Design Rules

Oriden species have a genetics system that determines their physical appearance. To be officially approved and considered a member of the species, characters must adhere to these genetics rules. Any characters that do not comply with the rules for each marking and color will be rejected until they are corrected.

The only exception to this rule are Limited Markings/Traits.

Your First Character

When you first join Oridenia, you'll receive a complimentary "Starter Slot," which you can use to create your first character. You'll be presented with three randomly generated genotypes to choose from to create your character's design.

Once you use your Starter Slot, a staff member will set up a bank account for you in the game and create a ToyHou.se character profile for your new character. We ask that you do not create your own character profile on ToyHou.se, as the transfer log serves as proof of ownership. We'll also add your character to the group automatically, so you won't have to worry about doing that yourself later on.

Adding your Character to the Game

To start playing the game, characters must be created between the ages of 2 and 7 years old. During character creation, players must also select their starting skill levels. Regardless of age, new characters may have the following skill levels:

  • Two Level 1 skills

  • Four level 2 skills

  • Two level 3 skills

  • One level 4 skill

Whichever skills have what level is completely up to you, upon registering your character.

Please note that starting out with a child character is not allowed, unless you have plans for them to be adopted by an individual into a tribe, or you're playing a character that is born into the game.

Character Idling

In the event that a user falls inactive or leaves the group, their character will be marked as "Idle". While idle, characters do not age or die. They're simply marked as inactive and put to the side until the owner either returns or becomes active with that character again.

Activity checks are done by staff, manually every 3 in-game months. Users are not required to do anything for these checks, nor will they be notified of them when they're happening. The only thing activity checks change is whether a character was active during a specific time period or not. This makes it easier for users to find active characters to interact with.

Characters belonging to users who leave the group and roleplay altogether take their characters with them. Meaning they may not be rehomed by anyone outside of the owner, or played by anyone else. However, all of their registered information and masterlist entry will remain intact.

Oridenia is a closed species world owned by Laarikin.
